AARP commercial
Posted On 08/17/2009 04:40:33 by Lunarstorm777

And, as luck would have it, a commercial just ran across my little television screen regarding this whole healthcare thing as well. Seems the AARP has taken a stance on the side of the Obama admin to try and get some things straight. In fact, they have made a complete website just for that purpose. So, after looking it over a bit, is AARP biased as well and horribly misinformed?  I mean, if AARP is typically geared towards older americans (The ones supposedly that will be put to death with this new health care bill), then why would they back this thing? Have a look for yourself.....

Just food for thought..... All I'm sayin.....

Hmmmm, well AARP isn't a government run healthcare system right? So perhaps they simply endorse the current bill, wish I knew honestly. I simply wish someone would post the actual bill, in black and white, just as it is in congress. Just found it funny that if Obama is gonna be "Killing off old people" a business that caters to old people would support it. I mean, their money is what keeps these guys afloat lol. Would kinda be like Exxon or Shell backing a bill that mandated 30 mpg vehicles lol.

I saw that commercial on TV today too, kind of took me by surprise.

Thing is, I'm dubious of these myth vs. facts things.

First some background.  If you hear Limbaugh/Beck/etc. complain about a liberal, it could be something, or it could be business as usual.  If you hear the BBC/NPR complain about a conservative, then likewise. But, if you hear one of those sources complain about the side they lean towards, my spidey sense tingles.

I heard a segment on NPR a few days ago where they said both of the current bills in congress don't match up with what the president is saying health care will be - a bit of a problem and breakdown in communication.

It kind of reminds me of all those medicare choices a coupl years ago.  The commercials said something like: go to the website, read the news, or (because really, who knows what the heck is really going down) "turn to each other."
