Best. Oscars. EVER.
Imho.
Hugh Jackman was so charming and relaxed and elegant and fun and sly, I thought he did a great job.
My GAWD what a yummy man :)
Best presenters: a toss-up between Tina Fey and Steve Martin and Seth Rogan/James Franco/That Cinematographer Guy (that was a funny short film they did, I totally giggled).
I love that Kate finally won, and I thought Sean Penn's speech was the best, and Penelope Cruz is so cute and gorgeous and I could listen to her talk all day and Heath Ledger's family made me cry (seriously: WHAT a WASTE that he's gone).
I really liked the five-on-five presentations of the awards, though some were obviously more comfy and personal than others (Nicole Kidman came off very cold (but that might just be her) and almost seemed nervous, as did my darling Tilda Swinton--it's cuz they've desicrated their redness and are blonde again, I'm almost sure of it, heehee).
What Shirley Mclaine (wow, I just realized I don't know how to spell that) said to Ann Hathaway was SO lovely :)
Meryl Streep is just DA BOMB DIGGETY, ya'll.
I did DETEST the musical number in the middle. I do not like Beyonce at all (hate is more like it, actually) and I thought that whole thing was a mess and a waste of time. I fast-forwarded through it when Bluckonce showed up.
Sarah Jessica Parker looked totally weird, and like she couldn't breathe. I haven't liked her at ALL since Carrie cheated on Aiden (you Sex and the City people will know whereof I speak, though you may (rightly) think I'm a bit silly).
I love Jack Black and I thought Jennifer Aniston was very cute, too :)
Stiller channelling Phoenix was pretty funny and Natalie Portman has my vote for the best gown. That pink was to die for.
I really gotta see Slumdog Millionaire, I guess
--I haven't seen any of the nominated films
I loved the redheaded guy that walked a tight rope between the twin towers in 1974 balancing the Oscar on his chin when they won for best documentary.
What else...Oh yeah: when did Angelina Jolie become so freaking stuck up? She used to be so chill and cool and wild and now I think she's believing her own press. All these people calling her a saint for her humanitarian work...she just came off so full of herself, I thought. Brad Pitt seemed much more reserved than normal, too. I prefer the funny sly relaxed jokey vibe he displays when he's hanging with Mr. Yummy Clooney.
Yeah...I'm not a good celebrity blogger, lol, but these were my impressions.
Did anyone watch the Indie Awards? Those were pretty fun, and much more relaxed
