Ok kiddies, so heres the long and the short of it.... Day before yesterday the reminents of Fay made their way through the carolinas... On their way they decided to drop some tornados in my neck of the woods... Fun right? Well, as I was sitting in my last class of the day (A tele class), the campus to the south of us told the instructor that they were being taken underground due to the weather... No brainer what that ment... We hadn't heard anything ourselves yet... Well after about 15, they still weren't back and their camera feed went dead.... Not a good omen. So another 20 min and class was over, I went outside to find the sky shooting by at 40 mph and rain coming down in buckets.
I called my sister and she said we were under tornado warning and it was basically right ontop of me... So what do I do? Well hop in my car and go to find it, what else?!? All was going well as I went down the 4 lane road, right up to the point the rain slackened off for a moment and the wind went dead still..... I think we all know what that means! I haven't felt that excited in AGES! Then all of a sudden the rain starts dumping down harder than ever, and the wind went from calm to insane in an instant.... Nearly got blown off the road (Thank god I have a neon, so low profile). Long story short, I didn't get to see the tornado, but I'm told I was right in the middle of it.... So, after waiting a while longer to see if anything cool would happen I go home....
Well about 2 hours later, here comes the T.V. screaming were under another warning.... This time its coming right for my area.... So, I have 20 min till it arrives, I tell my sisters to get ready and I go out on the back porch to wait for it.... 5 min pass, the sky gets darker, another 2 min and the wind picks up... another 3 min and I sit down in the rocking chair and light a cig propping my feet up.... Another 5 minutes pass............. And I'm out cold......... DEAD ASS ASLEEP!
I didn't realize how tired I was up till that point and the wind and the rain and the chair were just perfect to lull me to sleep.... When I woke up it was about 30 min later and dark outside..... So, in essence, I slept through the tornado..... What kind of a meteorologist am I going to make? 1 probable near miss and another I have no idea of due to my being asleep lol. That would have been some shiznit wouldn't it? I wake up going round and around in a funnel cloud..... Just goes to show, I can sleep through ANYTHING!
