I think its rare that I blog about a specific song, because no one ever seems to appreciate my musical interests as much as me and that pisses me off... holy run-on sentence, batman.
ANYhooooo, I am a closet geek, and I very much enjoy cheesey glory metal bands. So there's this band I listen to called Blind Guardian, and they sing some GLORIOUS and EPIC shiznit. even though at least half of their songs are Lord of the Rings related, hahaaaaaaaaa...I know, I SAID I was a geek, guh to the awd.
So they did this cover of Surfin' USA, and I just thought it was awesome enough to force everyone into listening. Starts out all beach boys style, then gradually transitions into the kickassinest metal masterpiece.
Yeah, soo....haha, I tricked you into listening to at least 3 seconds of it. :D

And Lord of the Rings related songs aren't always cheesy.... Led Zepplin had more than a few songs about Lord of the Rings.
That cover was hilarious though.... love the double bass, screaming backup vocals with such a happy song. The only thing that was cheese was the solo, but it was gouda cheese.
I like the Beach Boys too... I mean, they're nothing I'd pop in my CD player, but they got a lot of classic sh!t. I think the Wonder Years may be partly responsible.
