I was lucky enough to have Friday off from work. I began the day, sleeping in until 7 a.m., which was a great change from the 5:30 a.m. alarm clock sounding off in my ear. Then, it was time for a mini road trip down Ole 71. I had traveled this Hwy for many years, my Grandmother would take me and my cousin down the Hwy to see the views, and go to my Great Grandparents house. After, I had moved to Hot Springs, AR it was the only way home. I found myself driving my 94’ GT Mustang as if I were in a race. Ok enough memories already. LOL
I have posted pictures on page. So have a look and let me know what you think about North West Arkansas.
The 1st stop we made was at the rest area that I always stopped at. {Well, if I didn’t would have wet my pants” LOL} I love the new pavilion and picnic area they have put in. The White River was moving, and muddy as all get out. There I saw a couple in their 70’s holding hands as they walked down to the river.
We passed the Ozark Smokehouse, only to find that is was for sale. I had planned on buying some lunch meats and cheese there. We also passed the Our Lady Church. We were going to stop there, but a sharp corner and oh well next time.
Next stop, Artist Point. From this beautiful point, you see Lake Fort Smith, and the Boston Mts. We spent time going though the museum and store. I bought my Mom a Mothers Card there. They have homemade jams, relishes, and fudge. Humm Humm Good! From the back of the store you have a clear view, with Humming bird feeders hanging. The birds were fun to watch and oh so pretty.
We continued down the road, and stopped at what I had always thought to be a junk store. But, too my surprise it was handmade Cedar Furniture. The cedar filled the air. Chest, rocking chairs, tables, and dressers. Now, I know what I want for Christmas.
I had a great day!!!!!!! Hope everyone enjoy the pictures.
