We went to
Thorpe Park today!
The weather was absolutely perfect - warm but not too hot, it was cloudy (which is good as waiting in the sun when you're as pale as me is NOT a good idea!) but it didn't rain once. I don't think we could have asked for better weather!
Despite the fact it is a bank holiday, the queues weren't
too bad - we went on Stealth first of all and we hardly had to queue for that, and the same for Nemesis Inferno. Even when the queues got busier it wasn't too bad.
After lunch it seemed to get a bit busier but again, it wasn't as bad as it could be. All of the rides were open (which never seems to happen!) and even Quantum was working which it hasn't been for aaaaaages (hence the title quote which was meant to be "I hope Quantum is working" but my mind was clearly elsewhere...). We had a minor delay with Rush but that was resolved within minutes and we queued for Colossus and they had a problem with that and that couldn't be resolved so they gave everyone in the queue a fast track pass for either Nemesis Inferno or No Way Out and kept both of those rides open for 15 minutes so we all got a chance to go on, which was nice of them.
There was a bit of a nervous moment when we got on Slammer and one of the guys checking the safety harness things kept trying to push ours down further and they wouldn't go further so he undid them and then tried again and they didn't go any further down so he left them and walked off - I half expected to fall out when the ride went upside down but luckily for us, that didn't happen!
It was the perfect way to spend the day, though I'm quite tired now and glad I don't have to work until Tuesday!
