The painting

A poem by Eunice Crankyponts

The panting upon which,
I set my eyes upon today,
Seeing the inherent beauty
That none could ever convey
She painted it so lovely
She painted it so true
She showed my true colors
And enveloped me in blue.
Gift like none other
I've experienced before
Upon which, I cherish
For it's unlocked the door
That door that kept me hidden
Safe from hurtful things
I found the key; Unlocked it
To this I can avow,
The fear and animosity
Has left me
Thank you for showing me
That I am not so angry
Through your eyes,
I can finally see.

PS: this was truly an emotional response to the painting that Jules painted  of me.

REDDmARY, thanks, but it's not cleverness that makes a person able to write a nice poem. It's not even intellect. I draw on my emotions and just start writing and this is what comes out. Try it sometime, it is very cathartic. :)

A beautiful poem. Sigh, I, alas, am not so clever.

Jules, you know how much I love you! Your painting was a gift to me and it made me see tmyself the way the world sees me and this is the greatest gift. You are too kind and too sweet - and gave me that gift at just the right time - I am forever grateful!

I loves me painting that Jules painted for me. I might go on about this for weeks....so get a box of tissue. You are welcome, by the way. :)

Has anybody mentioned that it's a lovely painting?
