The Riverdance soundtrack has been my heartbeat for the past week - especially "Reel Around the Sun" and "Riverdance" itself. I saw Riverdance Wednesday night (8th row center) and when I bought tickets for Thursday I was astounded to get 2nd row right center section aisle! Whew! The benefits of going alone.
So yea, the university gave out half-price tickets again but I didn't find out until after so needless to say they were sold out, hence I didn't make it Tuesday and our university club didn't organize a trip.
So I went to get autographs after Thursday's show and I got a nice smattering, but you could tell most people wanted to get back to the hotel, must have been a rough day or something. I met Matt the Uillean piper, the soprano Laura (though I didn't recognize her since I was still nervous, the tappers were both really friendly - Jason and Parker, and I got 2 chorus stepdancers Meghan and Karl.
Karl was nice enough to ask me if I was local, and told me that the Saturday matinee would feature a local guy Joe M., not currently touring, as the lead. I already had my Sunday tickets, but I said, "well, guess I'll have to go a 4th time this week." His friends and family were all there and destiny handed me a 15 or so row ticket right in the middle of them. The lady next to me is part of a local stepdance school and a former Riverdance chorus stepdancer. By the stage door, I saw the big guy in one of the dancing schools around here that I know, and it turns out he taught Joe M. So awesome!
But not only did I get to meet Joe (who was by far the best male lead this week), I got 2 elusive autographs I was so hoping to catch! With luck and a little "пожалуйста" (please) and "спасибо" (thank you) I got a female Russian dancer Natalia to sign, and then I finally caught Yvonne, the chorus stepdancer with dreamy redhair! She complimented me on my red hair too. 
I'll see the last show the Boyne troupe will do in my city (in 2 hours) before they leave North America. The last date for Boyne appears to be Halifax, June 8.
