I applied to a writing program this year. Was rejected last year. But was actually entertaining a real small spark of hope for this year. I felt like I submitted a pretty strong sample.
But it is, they say, the best in the country.
Got the notice in the mail today: "We regret to say that, in this stringent competition, your application for admission was not succesful...Please know that our decision is meant to negate neither your talent nor your prospects"
That last must have been put in there to limit their liability to suicide lawsuits.
Sniff.
Oh, life...
I've been stomping around the house for an hour muttering "those f**kers, those f**kers" but ultimately, if I am permitted to get a little philosophical on all y'all asses, they aren't f**kers, it just isn't my time.
Still, sniff.
