Root for the President to Succeed
Posted On 08/15/2009 15:37:58 by AmericanStrawberry
Some people just want to complain and it's hope like you hope he will fail. I didn't here the same people complaining about Obama complaining about BUSH and there was far more to complain about when he was our President. It's going to take awhile for the economy to turn around regardless of who got elected. Yeah his healthcare reform needs major fine tuning. But Bush I wanted him to succeed but he was too incompetent to succeed and will be viewed in history as one the worst President's ever. But root for your President to succeed instead moaning, and whining, and complaining. Alot of what President Obama has to fix, is because of the awful Bush administration.

Same here Celtic....... Same here........ grrrrrrr......

But yanno, I do have to laugh at one point. So many republicans (Not just the ones here mind you, ones I deal with on a daily basis) keep bitching about money being spent, but where were they when this rollercoaster started going down the track exactly? I mean, you don't just wake up $10 billion in the hole, over night, yanno? They could have jumped in at any time and derailed things, but that didn't happen. Now all of a sudden, its wrong to waste money?!? And NO it wasn't all because of sub prime lending or the war...... I personally wouldn't even say half of it was because of that..... IMHO..

End rant haha.

Well let's see if the next eight years are as bad as the previous 8 years, then we are alot of trouble. It's in our best for Obama to succeed. Hey I didn't want Bush to fail, but how was he going to succeed when he couldn't even finish a sentence.

LOL.....I mean, what else can I do but LOL at you and your infinite wisdom when politics are involved....again, good job.

What do Republicans stand for lets see. WAR THEY LOVE WARS especially the illegal ones.

They think they are so much better than everyone else because they are rich.

They never take responsibility for their actions and they never apologize when they should.

They managed to piss over every country in the world in eight years.

That's not every Republican BUT THAT'S BUSH AND CHENEY IN A NUTSHELL!!!!!!

WAR CRIMINALS!!!!!!!!!!

No, you just SCREAM at any blog by a conservative and JUMP on the bandwagon on the rest...good job.

I never wrote five blogs a week complaining about obama. You can't convince me that the  conservatives want him to succeed cause they want OBAMA TO FAIL

I'll have you know our complaints are in dire hope that SOMETHING ...SOMETHING lights a fire under Mr presidents tail end to actually FIX, just ONE PART of ONE thing...rather than dabble in so much he can't even see straight anymore. How about STOPPING the SPENDING vs doubling/tripling it? What kind of bubble do you LIVE in?? As I recall you did NOTHING but moan, groan and WHINE about Bush til the bitter end and it's STILL not stopped! The fabulous thing about where we live (for now...) we can dislike our president and say so as LOUDLY as we choose. RANT over

BTW, you make a good point about complaining in general.  I'm writing letters (actual hard copy) to try to get the change I'm looking for, rather than sit and rant.  But blogging's a great 1st amendment exercise too.  I encourage everyone to get involved in the process - town hall meetings, whatever.

The foreign policy stuff seems to be going a lot better, but the health care thing and Government Motors is not the "change I voted for."  There is a lot to fix after the last administration! I mainly want and expect 1. Repeal the "patriot" act, 2. Stop the War On Photography, and 3. Reinforce habeas corpus - basic bill of rights kind of stuff - heck, basic 1st amendment stuff especially.

In regards to the last 3, he's so far 1. not made any move in regards to the patriot act, 2. his DHS secretary Janet Napilitano has reinforced the War on Photography, even after the NYPD released a directive to try to stop the war on photography 3. mind-blowingly managed to expand limits on habeas corpus more than Bush did with his new prolonged or "preventative detention."
Preventative Detention - 2 speeches in 1

I'm disgusted by them all anymore.  Maybe it's rose colored glasses, but Clinton more-or-less just meandered on with a "if it ain't broke I won't do anything."  He made his feeble attempt at socialing health care too, and that disatrous Telecommunications Act of 1996 with that insidious Communications Decency Act, but at least we got that taken to the Supreme Court and deemed unconstitutional pretty quickly.  Balancing the budget was nice too during Clinton years.  I'm not real happy about the deficit now and to come:
