Fuuuuuuuuckin' Mondays...
Posted On 07/13/2009 23:38:09 by JuWells

My DARN CATS have "remembered" that they are, indeed, CATS, and have been playing all night, almost every night, IN MY ROOM LOUDLY for the last week and a half.

When I try to lock them out I get Frankie SQUEAKING outside the door.

It's an evil conspiracy, I tells ya.

The result of this new trial/tribulation is Jules gets VERY little sleep and hence, Jules is VERY sleepy when attempting to perform her very demanding job duties.

Jules is so tired she's doing that stupid annoying HORRIBLE pretentious STUPID third-person thing.

She's stopping now

Ya, so...wow.

I was tired already today, and of course my first go-get was a Lab (OBNOXIOUS) and a Chow (excited but WAY sweet and WAY calmer).

So I get 'em out, leash 'em, grab their food, and head out the door.

The Lab LUNGES and not ONLY slams my hand into the door jam, it gets its leash off my hand and takes OFF.

Now this was in building two, which is indoor/outdoor, and all the dogs were outside, it being early in the morning (the outside kennel areas are about 16 feet by 4 feet, covered, with chain link gates on the outside).

So this DAMN DOG (ARGH! still annoyed) starts dancing around, having a grand ol' time, staying just outta reach.

Dork.

OH yeah, and INCITING TO RIOT all the other dogs up there. He totally ran all around the kennel building (thank FOOK it's fenced in, at least). I had horrible visions of bloody fence-fights and someone getting out and...it wasn't good.

I put the food down, I motion to these dogs' dad to please come up, and FINALLY I'm able to get a hold of the Lab's leash as he's attempting to scoot by me once more.

Little shite.

Meanwhile, this little Chow is just being a dreamboat.

So much for my admitted (and admittedly slowly shrinking) prejudice against Chows.

Dad's about half up the hill when Andria comes running up, and she grabs the food. The dad grabs the Lab's leash, and I walk the Chow down; sweaty, out of breath, and totally embarrassed.

With a throbbing knuckle on my right hand; which is now a pretty dark purple bruise.

Not much swelling, thankfully, and doesn't hurt that much anymore

Still and all, not an auspicious beginning to the day, yo.

It was HOT HOT HOT and muggy, and blucky and wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (heehee, I feel better now).

So the rest of the day was ok, except that I'm pretty sure I have an abcess in my upper right toofers.

Starting ACHING on Friday, and was swollen on the top. Called the Dentite on Saturday, and I'm going in tomorrow.

So in addition to a waxing and waning tooth ache, I now have a foooooking cold sore.

Woe is me

Yeah, but seriously, I HATE cold sores. I always get them when my teeth act up, and this one is a fooking doozy so I was in pain and depressed and self-conscious all day.

Lisa left at about 2, and I had the rest of the day to myself, so I was up and down the hill, sweating like a racehorse all day.

Also periodically huffing and puffing like one (it's a steep hill, shall be my excuse)

At about 2:30 we had a total cloudburst with wind and a smidge of hail, that reminded me of video of the Tsunami.

The wind makes the rain run UP the hill, it's kinda cool.

It super-poured, for over an hour.

That cooled things off a bit, and there was no funnel cloud, so I liked it :)

In other news, this sweet and relatively calm (he's 7, they're usually a smidge mellower by that age, de Labs) Chocolate Lab, Bo, was supposed to go home today, right? He got a bath, so he KNEW he was going home today (the dogs pick up on the routine really quickly and Bo's been in a lot).

So everytime I go back to get a dog, there's sweet Bo, hopeful, wagging, pleading with his pretty brown eyeballs.

He was totally breaking my heart, cuz every dog around him got to go home.

I was just PRAYING that his daddy would come (daddy had called early this morning saying he'd be there).

At 6:52 p.m., the phone rang. Yep. Bo's daddy, wanting to synchronize our time, lol, so he wouldn't miss me by a few minutes.

I told him flat out that I was gonna wait for him, cuz Bo had been breaking my heart all day.

He showed at 7:02 p.m., only 2 minutes after close, and Bo was SOO happy! I told him how Bo KNEW he was meant to go home, and he said his wife had said the same thing. That is, if Bo'd not gotten a bath, he'd have been fine, but since he got the bath, he knew it was his day.

Sweet sweet dog, pretty calm, totally lovey.

I'm really glad I waited for that guy.

Maggie the Shih Tzu went home today too. She's SO cute! Really calm, not yippy, not mouthy, just kinda chill :)

Nitro and Hailey went home, too. Nitro is like the coolest little Rat Terrier ever (seriously, no attitude, it's lovely) and Hailey is about the teeniest Yorkie EVER!

So teeny that when Roz put them in ISO ("isolation," for easy access to dogs that are clean and ready to go home), well, little Hailey escaped. She went right between the bars, and took a tour of the kitchen.

Sasha the Samoyed went home too, after a bath and a brush. Man she looked gorgeous and KNEW it, lol.

Yukon (SUPER JUMPER) came in at about 6:30 and me, stupid, tired, Monday'd to death, I made the mistake of bending down a bit to greet him.

Note: Yukon has a "warning" on his file.

Said warning reads (and I quote), "Friendly jumper; RIGHT AT FACE."

You got it, dudes, Yukes faceplanted on my mouth, and gave me a headache, lol.

A) Serves me right

B) It was worth it

Oh, yeah, and on the way home? My abcess (or whatever, maybe it's a TUMAH) kinda moved down into my neck, sorta under my jaw.

Where it sits, in a tender little knot, awaiting the Dentite's ministrations, on the morrow.

Wow I'm tired.

Love to the room, bye

Awwww the Bo story how sweet. Dogs just know, some are just sensitive and intuitive. I love that. Haha, Hailey sounds like a free spirit.

Agh abcesses,  pussey little things, who ever invented than needs a re-think Good luck at the dentist.

Hope you keep up

Squeaking outside the door?  My dad finally had it with Rhombus being rambunctious in bed one night and put her in the hall and closed the door.  She started taking running leaps and body-slamming the door.  She finally got it open, hopped in bed, and settled down.

Sounds like you had a good day. You still didn't add my MSN.
